Hi All,
I know the general idea of these things, dont know if any are operating at the moment but, if you entered the zone and never came out the other end, what would the computer do ?

Just curious.

Cheers.....Lionel.

G'day Lionel,

I that there are a number of PTP (Point to Point) cameras operating in Oz at the moment. My understanding of the situation and I am happy to be corrected by those that DO know, is that these are set up on major traffic ways in NSW and are targeting trucks. Hmmm, during our road trip to the East in September 2008 we (80 Series Landcruiser and CT) were photographed by a large number of cameras on a large number of gantries over main roads. Apparently, and the camera flash was obvious at the time, we were on the cusp of being big enough to be considered a truck ..... go figure ;-}

Taking into account the number of recent posts on EO about "minor" traffic infringements, if you travel at the correct speed ... the correct way ... in the correct lane .....with all your body parts within the vehicle confines ...... you should not have any trouble.

If you don't ....... here is probably not a good place to tell anyone about it ... lol

Cheers,

Wayne & Sally.

Lionel,

Point to point in NSW is for trucks only and located in various locations around Sydney and the Hume and Pacific Hwy, Newell amd New England Hwy.

Victoria has point to point for all vehicles
newspaper article

Our Victorian friends will fill us in on the point to point there.

The computer doesn't care if you take a week to do a 100k, It's programed to pick up if you get from one to the other under set time.
GU RULES!!

Lockup and need a new software installation. Turn all the lights to red and charge everyone double. Update needed!!! Where's the IT mob. Gone for the wekend.

I was led to believe it would "time out" on your car ,as it would if a car turned off before the "detected" end.

I wonder if you could wait a bit longer and then get out of jail free if it was a tollway??

Now don't anyone ask how long. I am joking.

Phil
