Each demerit points set lost will take 3 years......so if you lose lots of them in a short time you will be nervous for a much longer time than losing "a couple" per year :)

I can attest to that! Recently lost ALL points and are now on a good behaviour license until the 25th May this year - and counting down the days! No bookings in 12 months or license lost totally! The 7500km's from Sydney to Cape Trib late last year was taken very slowly! Kept dreading opening the letter box for the next month after we got home in case a camera had caught me somewhere that I didn't know about!
No I'm not a hoon - all were for 15km's under!

I was talking to long time Territorian recently, has every licence under the sun. Story goes a good copper mate in an outback town(this is 20-30years ago) filled out the paperwork over a few beers. What do you want? How about a Motor bike licence. No prob’s, anything else? What about a road train licence? Can you drive a truck? Yeah. No prob’s etc etc. I have good reason to believe it is true. He wasn’t the only one to get a few free licences that night either!

Cheers Lyndon

My father received his Class 5 from a newsagent wayyyyyyyyyy back in the 1930's , he never drove a semi and up to his death still was registered as HC/Class 5, when I asked why, he said it looked good to the police when they checked their records and noticed he never been booked, thinking this blokes a good driver and let him off with a warning

The largest vehicle she has driven was dads toyota traytop!

AFAIK if you lose your car licnece you lose all licences, I know this is case in Victoria, lose your car licence & you lose your boat licence.

Hey Shaker
What's all this about a boat licence, didn't know you needed one :-) Well, not in the NT anyway.
Cheers

Just a bit of trivia but in NSW everyone thinks its every 3 years but check the RTA site and they actually go back 40 months from your most recent booking when they are checking your points status
