Hi I am contemplating an off road trip and would like to take along a second spare. Any suggestions where one can buy a 17 inch rim for a 07 Prado. Tyre size 265x65 17
Cheers

Forget the rim, just take a tyre. Save the weight.

I agree.
Forget the rim. Put an inflated tube in the "blank" tyre to keep the rubbish out and of course a tyre repair kit. By now I gather you should have the repair kit anyway.

Hi,
do not attempt to buy one from Toyota.... you will die of a heart attack... around the $1000.00 mark. Go to your local tyre dealer and buy an after market one for around $300.00. Only difference is you will need a different set of wheel nuts as one rim has tapered holes while the other flat. Other than that the rims are identical.
regards

or for about $110 you can get a steel wheel.
Toyota had their 'genuine' steel wheels on sale for awhile for about the same $$$, no idea if they still have them.
If you want an alloy however... see above!

I grabbed the Yellow Pages and rang every tyre dealer I could find, ended up with a brand new set of (5) genuine Toyota Prado 17 inch mag wheels.
$500.00 for the lot including 24 wheel nuts.

Cabrolet.
Toyota Dealers have the steel ones for around $120 each.
Some on EBay for $112 plus postage.
Howard.

Thanks for your interest Tim but I have managed to obtain a rim on ebay.
Cheers
Chas
PS Just in case the deal falls over where are you and would you mind selling only one rim?

Yeah I have no issues off loading one only. I'm in
Sydney at the moment. You would just have to double
check the RV size is ok for you car, I think there is a difference in the GXL and the RV rims.
