Hi All
Am planning to go to Warroora Station near
Coral Bay at
Easter this year travelling from
Perth. We have a 2004 Jeep Cherokee (KJ model) and just wanted to know if anyone can offer some advice about the area.
Any help anyone can offer or some hints would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone!

What is the question Grotman?
Beautiful piece of coastline.
You MUST have a chemical
toilet to
camp there.
Take a look at their web site.
Cheers,
Peter

Good point, Peter!
I suppose of the camping areas available - is there a particularly good one we should search for?
Are there any shady trees we can
camp under or is it fairly barren?

Warra is a great place. We spent a week there in August with our friends Craig and Dale from EO. Camping right on the beach, awesome with no wind.
Warra's Website
We camped at 14 mile, about 30m from the waters edge. Would definatly recommend getting wood on the way in. We came from
Port Hedland and the allong the
exmouth road there is so much dead wood on the side of the road. we filled up the whole roofrack in about 25 mins.
Also recommend a drive down to the southern end of the property which borders Gnarloo Station. Be prepared for lots of wind and make sure you have a chemical
toilet.

yes, Matt that was a great spot, our photos of those gorgeous days on the beach at warra are amazing, however when the wind comes up camping on the beach was really about survival of the fittest. If it wasn't for strong ropes and star pickets tieing the jayco down i think we would of ended up blown a kilometre inland!! It was definately a memorable few days. LOL

Thanks for the info Matt - one other question -
How intense is the 4wdriving - I an no novice but far from an expert!
Anything i should look out for? Are some of the beach crossing a little hairy?

Excellent place to
camp,as others have stated you MUST have a chemical
toilet.
We stay there every year, twice a year. Once in the april school holidays and also late june for a boys only week.
Download a map from the website and take your pick, we always
camp at
the Lagoon but take your pick.

Hi
My wife and I were there camping in Jan - everyone said that is crazy time to go - it was wonderful, though the tradewinds were persistent from the S/SW, but we camped in 2 different spots behind the sandhills, but the breeze keeps it comfortable and nice to sleep at night. From their map it looks like you can only
camp in a couple of locations. You can
camp in many many
places over a distance of probably 50km of coast. The camping spots are scattered right down the coast. I had so many questions before I went, even though I did my research.
There are virtually no trees (we looked everywhere) except in the last spot in the sanctuary zone where there are 3/4 large trees with great shade, but no fishing, but the bay and swimming is absolutely pristine, but shallow. Turtles everywhere and small (1 foot) reef sharks.
Have a great time.

Thanks Rob - I asked the same question to a fellow person who offered some information...
What is he 4wdriving like - i have done some beach driving but don't consider myself an expert. Is it fairly safe or should i be a little concerned about some areas?
Cheers,

Hi Grotman
Hope you get this, I've been busy for a while.
Some
places are quite deep and soft, but only when you get to the 'less travelled areas'. It's quite okay though if you drop your tyre pressures and keep your momentum. There isn't a lot of beachdriving available, but what there is is quite easy - softer beach areas 'down the southern end' if you get off the main tracks.
