The Troopy was delivered to Polans Trucks at Dandenong Yesterday. The cost of the conversion is $7000 and I'm having a 3 seater bench
seat installed with retractable seatbelts at an additional cost of $2800. The owner has his own Troopy converted and I was able to inspect it and must say it was pretty awsome everything fitted nice and tight. A demo drive proved that there was NO wind noise which was originally of concern to me. They are going to extend the OEM black side step so that it takes in the new door, this is additional cost to be advised. The vehicle is due for pickup on 31 March. I'll keep you posted with photos as the owner of the business said they will take progressive photos of the conversion, I thought this was a nice personal touch.

I will follow your conversion with interest Jeff,
Not sure if I could justify 10k to spend on my Troopy but who knows..
Had considered a gull wing opening on the passenger side, purely for
ease of access to gear in the back. Any idea if Polans do such a conversion??
Look forward to the photos.
Cheers
Michael

BTW I could have given you a 3 seater bench
seat for your Troopy.
Came out of my RV and is sitting in the shed gathering dust:(((

Most common customers are tour operators.
Friend in WA ran a tour company and had a 2 door for many years registered for tour operation. The old one died so he bought a new one.
Rego authorities refused to register it without a third door.
They had never told him until then that he had a "special exemption" on the old one.
It was too expensive to then ship it to Polans so he gave up the business.

My next vehicle will be a troopy. Whether I get a 3rd door added or turned into a dual cab , I haven't decided yet. Look forward to hearing the progress of this project.
If Toyota made a dual cab on the troopy chassis then that would be the perfect vehicle, or even a 3 door troopy.
