With a landline phone it should be easy to contact him/her

But with the same email addy and items in 3 different states, all posted on the same day, it just looks too suss to be genuine :-(

Good spotting Kev.
I thought David had put in place checks that would not allow certain email address to be used or were checked. Obviously they have worked out how to get around this.
I've had three emails this week that appear to be from my ISP informing me that my mail in box is over quoter, and if I provide all my login/password details they will increase the size, but the reply address has nothing to do with my isp.
There are scammers out there everywhere.
Cheers for the heads up Kev.

Different subject but on the ISP. Around Christmas my isp server popped up stating there was some one else with the same ISP address and disconnected us. Same thing happened tonight. I have a bigpond 7.2 usb connection. Only happens in caravan parks. Should this be a concern.

Is your connection encrypted through your modem?
I'm having a guess here, as I don't use Bigpond or have a laptop for wireless connection. others maybe able to help with this.
I'd also be contacting Bigpond and asking how to secure the connection.
Hope this helps.

Hi Old Girl

I had the same thing two or three times whilst away last year. I had my daughter's laptop and her bigpond internet. I thought it may have been when i was having trouble logging on, with their system recording me as being logged on while is was trying again. Restarting computer didn't help but it came good after turning off and waiting a few minutes.

On the duplicate "ISP address" I think you mean duplicate "IP address".
This is not a big issue. Happens from time to time when using DHCP for automatic address allocation.
Just from a DOS command window, type "ipconfig /release" and then "ipconfig /renew" which will release your address and then ask the server for a new unique address.
Cheers.
Peter.

Yes Peter, IP address.

"using DHCP for automatic address allocation" Translate into the language of every day travellers please.

Gee, I haven't used DOS since pre-windows days. Something computer techos can find still lurking behind Windows?

Cheers

If you are running Vista the Run won't be in your start menu. Let me know if this is the case and I'll tell you how to get it on the start menu.
DHCP stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. Used in its simplest form, it dynamically allocates your computer an IP address from a pre-defined pool of addresses, as well as default gateway, and DNS server address. This is what happens when you set (by default) your TCP/IP address configuration to automatic.
It is especially useful for ISP to save on IP addresses used as only addresses in use are consumed. This use and re-use of the same address sometimes leads to the duplicate address issues. Is is also useful for users as they do not need to static configure addresses and possibly get them wrong.
Sorry for the long spiel but I am a telecommunications geek by day time.
Cheers.
Peter.

I don't know. Could be a real bargain at that price :)

The exact same car is up for sale in Sydney, where they are asking $12 000. Different contact details however.

I suspect this is the real seller.

Not sure if this was part of a scam or not but here in Adelaide (Burnside to be exact) there was a 96 80's series for sale. 171,000kms, bullbar, spotlights, towbar, UHF, LPG, roof racks and work lights - $5100.!!!!!

Of course, I thought I'd snag a bargin so I tried to ring the landline number. A little old lady answered, knew nothing about the car, and didn't know the "Rebecca" that was suposedly selling the car.

Was Vic registered. Was listed on a website called Auto Market.

Had a mate of mine who works for Transport SA check the details. The car exsists in real life. Went unregistered in Jan of this year. Not listed as a write off or anything.

If the car is still for sale....I want it!. But alass...I think it may be a scam. Auto Market have since removed the ad after I notified them that the number appeared incorrect and the seller wasn't answering my emails.

Too good to be true????? Obviously.
