I have a Torpedo 12v Light which has the 2 pronged 15w Bulb. I have had a quick look on the web and can't seem to find somewhere that sells replacement bulbs.

Anyone have any ideas where I can get one from.

Cheers Kev

Howdy Kev,

Try Evakool - they mainly sell fridges but also sell torpedo lights - not sure if its the same as yours though - they say its a 13w bulb. Not sure how a bulb would go in the post but worth a look. The relevant bit on their website is: http://www.evakool.com/Torpedo/index.shtml

The existing bulb in the light is a De-Tech Torpedo Lamp, 15 Watt. So I guess they have reduced the wattage to 13w.

Although I do recall someone saying that there is also a 4 pronged version so it may be that the 4 pronged version is the 13w bulb??

Is it a Quartz Halogen lamp or an Incandescent? by the sound of it(2 prongs) it more then likely is a bi-pin QH. electrical wholesalers may also be able to help.

Kev,
It looks to me to be either a PL (G23) or a PLC base...

This may assist (??)

Should be readily available (Do you have a Mitre 10 handy?)...

AFAIK, these are not voltage dependant, the appropriate ballast being in the actual light fitting.. (happy to stand corrected should this not be the case;-))

Ed,

The original one has 12VDC ONLY not for use in Mains Voltage.

I'll try Mitre 10 here in Chinchilla or as suggested further down head into Toowoomba.

Kev,

Had some trouble finding one of these recently and tried a lot of places but with no joy. I ended up throwing the light out.
Recently I have seen the bulbs and lights at BCF venues.
Hope this helps.

Regards Will

Hi Kev,

I have had a Torpedo for about 4yeras and I had the same problem as you a few years ago and was able to buy three spare bulbs at a stand at the Sydney Caravan and Camping Show. The vendor was a person that was selling the lights and he had a whole box of spare bulbs.

Kev,

Burrell's in Toowoomba sell the lights and have the bulbs not cheap, $17 from memory.

Bill,

If Mitre 10 as Ed has suggested doesn't have them them I'll definately be trying Burrell's as they are virtually local LOL
