Hi,

Going to Coffs Harbour at Easter hoping to go white water rafting at Nymobdia and spend a few days camping. Can anyone recommend a nice quiet camping area i know its easter so be good if it wasnt one of the really popular places at a national park near by. whats Chaelundi like? would also like to do some medium difficulty 4wding so be good if there was some tracks at the national park.

Thanks

If looking at the Chaelundi N.P. area you might like to have a look at the relatively new Dalmorton N.P.

Situated on the old Glen Innes to Grafton Rd. Small camping area on the river.

We spent a week there immediately after the Christmas School Holidays and had the place to ourselves. Other than supplied wood (sawmill off cuts ) you need to be totally self sufficient. Individual camp sites with steel barbecue plates, long drop dunnies and that's it.

You might care to have a google and crank Dalmorton into Google Earth.

Hi,
Try any of this area Wild Cattle Creek

Platypus Flats is a nice little hide away, not really suited for trailers and camper vans, more so for tents. It is National Park, but the surrounding area is State Forest. Most places these days get busy at Holiday time, thats why we take our kids out of school through the term and camp with nobody else around, Hope this helps and have fun.

Platypus Flat on upper Nymboida River as well.
Best 4WDing is always in State Forests, never in NP.
Talk to State Forests at Coffs Harbour, they have great maps of the region for about $10
Anywhere in that Dorrigo to Nymboida- West of Grafton region.

PS Also "The Junction" (Junction of Nymboidia and Little Nymboida Rivers), it is in a NP. As mentioned above with with Platypus Flat good for tents, no good for Camper Trailers, need a 4WD to get in.

I think it where the 2 day rafting expiditions which start at Platypus Flat finish.

This is great didnt expect so many replies so quickly, that dalmorton place sounds good i'll look it up, what are the better state forests for 4wding? thanks for all the help. I heard the platapus flats and cod holes are meant to be very nice but very busy at easter we were hoping to get away somewhere quiet, altho that said everywhere will be busy i suppose at easter. On a side note has anyone done the white water rafting trip on the nymobdia river?

thanks again

Tyringham General Store/ Pub
Nymbodia White water rafting centre
Maybe even Nymbodia Police Station.
