Hi folks, just checked out the Lyndhusrt Hotel site and they have posted some amazing pix from yesterday morning when the flood front on the Strz Ck reached the crossing on the Strz Track. Meanwhile the same Qld water is also having a hard time in the desert as the Cooper flood stalls around Lotteries Waterhole..... W

G'day Warrie,
Thanks for the link. I think i have found the waypoint of the road washout where the Strzelecki Ck crosses the Strzelecki Track - S28 56 36.2 E140 07 08.9. Is this the spot?
You could be driving out of Lyndhurst without a problem and the road is ok when you leave, and gone completely before you get there. I suppose you could possibly be cutoff if you turned to go back to Lyndhurst.

Cheers,
Bill

Great pics alright.....does not look like anyone will be travelling out that way for awhile. And I just noticed Winton had another 40 mils of rain yesterday as well.

The report from Lyndhurst pub and their contact with the road crew is that the Strz Tk is open to Mt Hopeless, but no one is allowed to go up to the crossing. The water opened up the road even more than the last pix show, up to a 10 metre wide washout over 3m deep. It will be closed due to flooding and be 6 weeks until it is repaired. They will update their site with new pix as they can.... W
