Hi all, quick question, is it permitted to
camp anywhere along the
Mereenie Loop Rd aside from the designated
camp sites at the resorts and townships? I plan on picking a permit up from Kings Canyon Resort heading Nth from Uluru but wanted to go a little further along before stopping for the night. Will be there around mid-late Jul so i expect lots of traffic.

I would suggest you head to
Palm Valley for a night or two While you in the area. We went from Kings Canyon to there and while it wasn't a hole day it was a great pace to stop after the rattles of
the Loop :-). I suppose you have already planned to go there in your trip. Just a thought
