hey there, i have just purchased a toyota landcruiser fj62.....i have a problem with my UHF.......i can recieve, but cannot transmit....the model number is tx472s, i think the problem may be the mic....does anyone know where i can purchase a new one, and if not a new one, a second hand one.Please help, as i am in need of the UHF, and dont really want to do away the the old unit.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Brett

Most truck stops will carry spare mics for UHFs or Tandys/Dick Smith, Depends wear you are.

cheers for that mate, tryed a couple of stores so far....with the reply's.."sorry they dont make the mic's for the unit anymore".....so yeah, will look in the stores you mentioned.

hi had the same problem with a mike , try to open it up and for shore 1 loose conection will be the problem, solder offeneding wire . should overcome your prolblem. regards

Check with Electronic Bug. They stock quite a bit of secondhand stuff.

the other thing to
check is for a broken centre conductor in your co-ax.
Usually happens just after the connector. The broken centre conductor will let you receive, but not transmit. Be careful here, as to continue to try and use it will damage the power amplifier in the radio.

check that you haven't turned VOX on. Took my Uniden out and down to Electric Bug, the tech heard me talking to the sales man who was in the throws of booking it in. Tech grabbed the radio went away and less than 5 minutes was back there fixed no charge. Ok what was wrong? usual problem VOX turned on, have turned it off and now your mike will work. It does.

cheers for the help mate, but this tranmitter is a five pin mike.....where mine is a 6.cheers heaps anyway.
