Heading to WA in August & looking to go from the Stuart Highway at Dunmarra across the Buchanan to Timber Creek. In a 4WD towing a standard 18ft pop top van. Anyone know anything of current road conditions? Have towed van across lots of outback roads (eg Birdsville/Oodnadatta Tracks) so not concerned about gravel..
Thanks, Willy

Gooday,
try this link to the road report website
Had a quick look and couldn't see any notifications for the Buchanan, so all should be OK.

Willy,

Friend of mine came from Dunmarra to Top Springs yesterday and he said the road was good. He towed a camper trailer with no problems. But August could be different story as the corrugations will more than likely appear. Call Top Springs for up to date road conditions through to Timber Creek closer to the time.

Cheers

Greg
