This road into Maytown is now open, I have spent the last few days there.
It is a good road up to Canibal Creek Airstrip then it gets a little rougher.
Some of the creeks still have a little water in them but its easy to get there.
I don't know where the road reports come from but they do need to updated better.

G'day Tony, The Wrights creek road is open. All the road reports say it is closed.
The road reports are not up to date, even the Cook Shire road report say its closed.

Damien - Not trying to be a pain, just clarify the wrong info on the CSC Web site. Did you ring the Council for that info? Otherwise it is still officially closed. It may be very passable as you have found, but unless and until it is inspected by the Council and approved to be open, then it is still closed.

Cheers Tony

I was told a few weeks ago by the shire engineer that the road is now open.
It is so long since I've seen that road, I have no working knowledge of it anymore, so very welcome to hear someone has recently travelled it. Is the access still direct from the Palmerville station turn off?

No it is about 2 kms from the Shire Boundary sign on the LHS, TURNS OFF AND THEN FOLLOWS THE ROAD FOR A WHILE BEFORE HEADING WEST

Cheers - Tony
