Any recommendations for Lake Eyre Flights?. We are going up the middle in July and would like any recommendations or suggestions.
We are happy to go into
William creek or alternately there appear to be options from Flinders Rangers.

William Creek will be much better value for money because it is closer to the lake, but flights are available from Arkaroola,
Coober Pedy, sometimes
Marree and other
places.
Wrightsair, William Creek
We were fortunate to have a private flight last year.
Don't miss the opportunity.

Last year we did a flight from
William Creek, with Wrightair, we did
the Painted Hills and Lake Eyre flight in early July, thought that it was great value the
views were breath taking and gave us a real appreciation of the area. At that time most of the bird life had gone and the lake is so big that it would have been boring looking at just water for the duration of the flight. We found
the Painted Hills to be spectacular with amazing colours.
It is truly an amazing part of the world enjoy.

I am another who has experienced a couple of flights with Wrightsair.
Besides a flight over Lake Eyre, a late afternoon flight to
the Painted Hills across Anna Creek Station will give an amazing perspective of the vast flood plains in the area.
We booked a two flight deal (4 people).
One flight to
the Painted Hills and another that took us across the southern part of Lake Eyre, along the southern edge of the
Simpson Desert to a stop over for a dip at
Dalhousie Springs. Following a leisurely soak we took off again and booked our luncheon of Oodna Burgers at the
Pink Roadhouse, being picked up from the
Oodnadatta International Airport in Adam's pink limo, to take us to lunch.
Finally flew back to
William Creek above and along the
Oodnadatta track for a different perspective from above.
Two great flights and Trevor is both friendly and interesting on the narrative and history of the area as you fly.
Can definitely recommend Wrightsair.
Bill.

Can thoroughly recommend an early morning flight with Wright Air out of
William Creek - Lake Ayre is interesting, but
the Painted Hills with early morning clarity and the low angle light on them are truly spectacular. (Remember to charge the camera battery the night before!!) Don't expect the huge numbers of birds in the lake that we see on TV.
Cheers
