I just received this from the Bulloo Shire Council:
"At present the
Burke and Wills bridge is still unpassable, however we are expecting that it will be ready for vehicles within the next fortnight, there is an alternative crossing but unfortunately the river is still too high to use this crossing. The roads are passable it just the section of the bridge that is not open."

G'day Mal,
Don't know if you've tried yet but you can get
park info by calling DERM- details for Diamantina are:
QPWS

park info)
Landsborough Highway,
Longreach
PO Box 202,
Longreach QLD 4730
ph (07) 4652 7333
fax (07) 4658 1778
QPWS Diamantina Catchment Management Unit (listed in contact us section)
Bladensburg National Park
PO Box 225,
Winton QLD 4735
ph (07) 4657 1192

I was looking into it a few weeks back and it was listed as closed but that information is gone and the site is back to normal. The link is
here.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for that Amy.
I was going to call just before we left, so now I won't have to search for the phone numbers!
We are really looking forward to going out that way seeing the country at its peak.
Thanks again for the effort.
Cheers Mal

I believe they have had one end fixed for a while but the other is missing where the road meets the bridge.
I sent the camera out with the bread winner here are a couple of shots.
