What a waste of money not impressed. Only 2 small pavilions for a city of this size.

I got there at 9 and could of left at 9.30. Walked around again and left at 10.

Those wanting to see John Rooth would of been in for a shock he was only appearing at noon. Think the best deal was the free newspaper and carry bag given out on entry.

There was though a good deal on a roof top tent by one of the camper trailer mobs. Looked like the ARB and Ironman one. Think from memory they wanted about $1200 included the side skirts and for $300 more you got the flyscreen enclosure.

Steady on folks; Its the first of its kind in WA and from my point of view I felt it was great to to struggle passed endless rows of new 4Wds, Caravans and everything else not related to 4Wding.

If there is a next year I'm sure more of the trade will attend and it will be bigger and better.

Remember from an acorn a giant oak grows.

Just my point of view.

I agree with what you say about it being the 1st show Phil, but given the hype it was a disappointing turnout by the 4wd accessory suppliers etc.

What was very obvious though was that 4WD Action is a very popular mag here with many people wanting to have their photos taken with the 4wd Action crew.

Maybe next time they will have demonstrations and talks etc to keep the crowd entertained. This may have happened this year but I didn't see any advertising at the venue to suggest this other than Roothy would be there at noon.

No doubt the organisers will use this year as a learning experience.

Yep I agree Duncan, lets hope the organisers learn from the experience.

I also hope more of the trade get behind the event next time, so that it provides more of directly 4Wd related gear.

cheers

hi
well i enjoyed it and was able to discuss at length several items that i was interested in
and got a good deal on some rancho rs 5000 shocks buy three get one free so had a good day and as it was the first one it will get better also had a good chat about prospecting etc because the crowd seemed to be more interested in having a boring photo taken with roothy that gave me more free uninterupted time with certain vendors dicussing technical stuff
i thought roothy was the boring bit as after watching most of his dvd's he really was old hat to me and i have basicly heard all he had to say on dvd's and i'm sure he could talk under water
but then everyone has different interests hey!
cheers

I too thought it was very disappointing. I usually go to these sort of things to either buy something new or learn something new, and I left with neither. From the quite and dull atmosphere, I'm guessing most people felt the same way. There were a few good custom trucks on show, but I virtually didnt see anyone demo anything, or talk about their rig.

gday guys.

We went to the Coffs Harbour 4wd & camping show today and we too were a bit disappointed.
Turned up at the race course and the caravan & camper trailer sections were comprehensive but the 4wd section of the show was very ordinary. One would expect them to have a 4wd driving display of the moving kind but nothing (only a couple of stands flogging stuff you could buy in town at their store).
Even the fishing part of the show was bigger.

Hey Mark,
We were there to and found it a bit disappointing, Arrived about 11am and gone by 12.30. it took longer to walk across the car parking than around the show LOL.
There's always Wauchope show coming soon.
Cheers Dave..

Hi guys,
Can relate to your issues. A new show in Sydney run by four wheel drivers is starting this year. See www.4wdadventureshow.com.au and www.youtube.com/4wdadventureshow
