Unless you are talking about the railway track, there is no such thing, however you may be thinking of this one Old Andado Track.

Thanks 3Gobush, that's not the track. A mate of mine told me there has a track opened up in the last year or so ago.

I would be using the Stuart Hwy, if your on the Sturt your well and truly lost and should have had a Garmin GPS.

That would be Binn's Track which takes in a scenic route of the NT and is far from the most direct route that some people might prefer. I does take however, include some great places along the way, so even if you travel some of these tracks each time you go North, hopefully travellers will learn to appreciate the region.

Thanks Chris. I just couldn't remember the name of it. My mate told me it is as you said not the most direct but the scenery is fantastic.

Binns Track runs from Mt Dare in northern SA, to Timber Creek in the East Kimberley.

It has some slow dirt sections, some good, fast dirt sections, some slow rocky crap, and some of the bituminous Stuart Highway (as Doug points out, you need an "A" in Sturt). It's a ripper - did it in 2007 + 2009.

But it ain't nowhere near Darwin.

Cheers
