Hi Guys,
On the way up to Wiluna and boy is it cold. Now out in the bush at Sandstone and it is freezing up this way. Have had 2 jumpers on all day and extra trackies. Had a great run through on the Payne's Find/ Sandstone Rd so will spend Friday night at Lake Mason then head into Wiluna on Saturday. Rains all gone and the roads are dry so far.
Has anyone been to Lake Mason I see its on the map as a DEC camp spot.
Cheers Julie and Brian

Hi guys,

It would have been nice to be able to be in area again.

We were at Lake Mason in 2003 when the WA 4WD Association and VKS Radio Network members carried out a considerable amount of work with CALM on the property. Cleaning out the homestead, which was the old Sandstone Hotel, cleaning up around the homestead, constructing shower and toilet blocks. There was an effort made to get the Association to be caretakers ............. a lack of interest caused it to fall through.
There are apparently some spectacular areas to visit and if the area is the same now as it was then, take LOTS of powder with you to try and keep the ants at bay.

Enjoy your time there.

Cheers,
Wayne & Sally.

PS. As far as I am aware camping is still allowed there, the DEC office in Kalgoorlie would be the place to check with.

Yep it's cold alright. Had a thick layer of ice on the car windows this morning here in Perth. Won't see you at the gathering as I'll be heading into the GVD tomorrow morning and yep I'll be packing plenty of warm clothing.

Enjoy Wiluna and the festivities, wish I could be at 2 places at once.
