Hi Lyndel,
Anaconda stores hire out packs, camping and other stuff.
Thanks to 'made in China' packs are so cheap now days, so look at the difference in hiring and actually buying, especially as your daughter may need a pack in the future for other challenges.

My niece just completed her D of Ed, you will need the pack on at least six occassions so might be better to bite the bullet and buy one.
