CPilot Live

I am trying to upgrade my Co-pilot live from v6 to the latest version which I think is v8. Travroute don't seem to handle CoPilot any more

ALK Technologies are the distributors for CoPilot.
What is the problem you are experiencing?

The CoPilot CD comes with a printed installation guide however you can download the full manual if needed.

I have Copilot Live ver 8 which is the last supported version in Australia.

I tried to get a later version and was told by the USA makers

"It is no longer supported in Australia and there will be no new versions"

I didnt like the computer voice which I could barely understand and tried to get a later version which has selectable voices but no go.

I do have a pirate copy of Ver 10 if you want it. I couldnt get it to accept the older Aussie maps. Johnny Appleseed who used to sell it apparently do not any more..

You can have my ver 8 cheap plus I have an 8.10 upgrade for it if I can find it but I think its still on the wbsite

Hi Graham

Did you have an earlier version of Co-pilot? I have version 6 and am happy with the voices. Don't know if there has been a change. How up to date are the maps on v8. If they are very recent I might be interested. Thanks

I may be wrong (and stand corrected if I am), but to me it appears version 10 seems to be laptop and version 8 appears to be as recent as last years mapping.

Mine is version 8 Copilot Live for Laptop and I bought it at least 4 years ago In early 2006 according to my records.

I as I said have version 10 for Laptop but dont have the Aussie maps for it and the ver8 maps dont want to work with it.

They also had (have ) a PDA version.

Only way to find out is ring them Its $297

Hi I downloaded V8 not long ago (earlier this year) from the ALK website - this is for a PDA though.

It was a very new release.

I upgraded from v6. From memory I had to uninstall v6 first.
When obtaining the upgrade you do have to provide your old serial number (ie v6 one).
whc
I reckon it is a lot better than v6 and the voice is OK. It fixed a number of my known problems but is still not perfect.

The good thing is that I upgraded for under $50.

Richard
