Dear All,

Can anybody out there with a newish Dual Cab Hilux preferably SR5 that is fitted with a CANOPY, preferably ARB send me some photos. And brand will do though!

aeiou@bigpond.net.au

Believe it or not I can't seem to find any good side on pics showing the canopy fitted and I am looking at a canopy instead of a ute hard lid.

Any other comments good or bad about the ARB Canopies most welcome.

One thing is for sure, they seem to cost a lot for what they are!!

Cheers

they seem to fit neatly on the well bodies and with seals around the tail gate seem to keep dust out, thats a comparison with another brand we sometimes fit

Try this site

On the LHS there is a box where you can select the model you wish.

Alternately there is Caddy Canopies - I like theirs as their side lift up window would give better access than the ARB ones. I was quite disappointed with my ARB one - I got the hi-top one thinking it would give me a better window, but it is only toe same height as the low top canopy.

Peter,

The ARB canopy is available with either sliding, or lift up windows, or even one of each.

I chose the standard height canopy as the extra access height wasn't an important feature and the standard one looks more aesthetic.
I'm really happy I chose the lift up windows as they give good side access to the inside.

Dave,

They may be a premium cost but they are built to last too.
When I cut a hole in the roof to fit the accessory vent, I noticed the thickness of the ABS material was around 6mm-8mm.
I also included an internal steel frame to increase the carrying capacity of the rhino roof rack.

Very happy with the ARB canopy mate.

Hi aeiou

I have a SR5 Hilux 2006 and have an ARB Canopy on it for the last 3 years. Been very happy with it, took it to Birdsville on a 2 week trip. Then last year travelled around Oz, doing 6500 k's on dirt. The only problem I found that the window locks hate dust. I used a piece of push bike tyre tube and cut so it fits over the handle thus covering the lock it self.

Cheers
