Rain on the GRR

Kimberley Road Conditions

Road conditions information for:

Member - Ian W1 (QLD)

Have just had a message from friends travelling the Gibb River Road to say they had been 'evacuated' from the GRR and are now in Derby due to rain problems on the GRR. Unfortunately they weer just able to leave a message on my answering machine so don't have any more information. The BOM site shows a little patchy rain inthe area. Does anyone have any better information?

We had to leave Windjana Gorge in a hurry yesterday morning due to lots of rain and more rain coming and the park and roads were closing. The trip out was a little tricky. Sunny in Broome today but predicting more rain tomorrow :(

GRR is closed at the moment about 5ks from Imintji roadhouse,a roadtrain and a truck plus a 4wd are all bogged side by side on the road,MRD Derby are working to get them out and re open the road,so have patience,it should be open again today-sometime.
