I understand that free camping at this spot is no longer allowed as a caravan park has opened up. Does anybody know what the park is like?
Thanks.

I don't know about the Caravan Pk but think it's at the Roadhouse a few hundred metre north.

I had a friend tell me 3 weeks ago that there are definitely signs at the Ford stating that there are fines etc if caught camping there.

HI
fair enough ...if someone has set up a park within a reasonable distance, then we should use it.
Having said that I feel we should expect that they are providing a reasonable facility for the price they are asking

A nice sentiment Brian, but i can't agree with you. "if someone has set up a park within a reasonable distance, then we should use it."

If someone starts a restaurant in my town, should we use it? No, i will continue to cook my family meals.

I understand the free camp was listed in CAW, but someone (the local shire?) has chosen to stop camping there. Maybe the old story of the messy minority spoiling it for everyone.

Perhaps the caravan park owner is on the shire council.
What happened to the Magna Carter? A traveller was allowed to stay for three days???????

Soon we will be told we can't camp in our own backyard. At the moment I am in the N.territory and will be doing my annual run across the top to Queensland but I am sure Iwill still find my spots in the bush with no signs altyough it gets more regulated every year. Our grandkids will have to be satisfied with a thrill from a coach tour to the zoo!

Umm... the caravan park at the servo near Reagans Ford has been there as long as I can remember - and that is probably over 20 years. I don't think you could ever (legally) camp at Reagans Ford, but I am sure many people probably have. From the outside, the CP doesn't look 5 star at all, but given its proximity to Perth I have never needed to use it so have no first hand experience.

Cheers

If you give the Brand Highway a miss and use the Moora/Bindoon road there is FREE camping at Mogumber. I arrived as a caravan club was departing and the toilet block was spotless. Better than Regans Ford as much less traffic.
I am off to Exmouth next Sunday and that is the road that an old dodderer like me is taking. Set the cruise control for 90 kms and enjoy the scenery.
