They are both owned by the same person so take your pick
We stayed at Dearloves which is the closer to town. It seemed to have more van spaces then the other.
Wasnt flash at all and lots of regulars in Dongas on shiftwork so constant traffic.
Amenties were old but clean.
Sites were only grass.
Tom Prices van park is quite nice but of the same vintage and comments.

As above,
you will have to take what you can get as most of the park(s) are occupied by
mine workers. I must say we were
well treated by very helpful staff. Try to phone ahead and book as it's very busy.

As above, lots of noisy coming and going at all hours, we stay o/night at Capricorn R/house just south of
Newman, usual road noise, but much more civilized than the two parks in town.

Apart from the movement at odd times would say that it was relatively "civilized"
The kids on the site next door who bounced their football off our van were more trouble than anyone else.
They then disconnected our water because I told them off.
The other
camp is mainly
mine accomodation anyway. Didnt see any vans there much at all.

Yes know what you mean, we had a similar experience in
Monkey Mia, only the
young kids there thought it was good fun to keep banging the side of my new van with tent poles ! all while their parents "Bundy and coked" !! talk about the neighbors from hell!
We had booked for a week but left after 3 days.
Never had any problems like that at Capricorn though (but we never travel during school hols,) always pretty quiet (apart from the trucks on road) but as I said we only O/night there on way North.

You sure It was about this time last year. They were in a camper .
We didnt mind it apart from that which wasnt the camps fault.

Hey Mate,
We stayed at
Newman caravan park. Right next to
the pool and BBQ. Was good for us as they allow dogs, they let us park our van out the front in storage while we went to the
carnarvon range(for free!) and the amenities are like a bathroom at
home(would be good for Lee, bathroom, sink, bath and
toilet all in one room)

Hello Evan, We've used Whaleback just as you turn into town next to the BP. I was there last week and the owner helped us out by filling up our gas bottle. This may not seem strange but when he only charged half the price because he felt there was already a bit left in it, I nearly fell over. God bless the country. Karijini was busy (school hols) but there is an overflow park at the info centre. Doubt you'll have any trouble - enjoy!
