Hi, I'm looking into crossing the New England NP South to North in February. Now there is the Nulla Nulla Creek Road, starting appr. 2 K's East of Bellbrook on the Armidale Road. At the end of Nulla Nulla Creek Road it looks like a dead end. But very close to the North there is the Nulla Creek Road, heading further North. If one looks on Google Maps in satellite view, it's almost as if a peace of flat grassland, paddock or so is separating the two roads. It's not as if there is a gorge, rock wall or anything else. Anyone been up there or has an even better map than the Hema 4wd Raster Map. Must tell you we will be on the road in a 4wd motorhome, 6.00 long, 3.15 high, high clearance.
Cheers,

Willem

Willem269,

The road has been separated for years by a landslide that the council refuses to repair because there are no properties effected.

Well, that's the end of it. Might head to Bowraville, turn off at Kaprotay Road and do some puzzling as there are many dead ends. Almost like a maze. Such a pity, this landslide. Could be a great drive. I reckon it's nothing a group of willing workers could fix over a weekend ;-)

I think you will need a bit more than a wheelbarrow and a shovel

Only need a short track, not a real road. Must be a farmer with a front loader around.Nah, just kidding. Just mailed the Kempsey Shire Council of they are planning on doing something soon. I'll post the answer (if any) here.

You could try Petroi Rd from about 7'ks east of river junction at Georges Junction, north to the Cunnawarra fire trail that leads out to Point Lookout Rd not far from the L.P Dutton trout hatchery.....west of the Cunnawarra northern end of this track are some nice little spots in Hyatts Flat, Dinner Flat, and Pantons Point.

cheers

Thanks for that, Chris. My 'porblem' is that we are making a tour from Adelaide to Brisbane (Otways, Vic Alps, Snowy Mnts, Blue Mnts) between mid December and mid March) and I was actually looking for a way to get across the New England NP and do side-trips and detours on that 'through road). That's why my first aim was at Nulla Nulla Road and am now looking to get across to Bowraville, Bellingen, Dorrigo, Coutts Crossing, Grafton and so on.
Cheers,

Willem
