Can anyone advise the best way to go for a caravan site in
Tamworth during the music festival. If we are uncertain of dates, are we likely to find somewhere for our 30foot van if we just turn up?

Tamworth 14-23rd Jan 2011.
Camping can be found at the Council Sports ground, adjacent to the Peel R. Bookings are not taken for this facility, and are booked at time of arrive. There are a number of other locations you can pre-book. for more info go to www.temf.com.au. Hope this helps.

g/day i have been staying at the trotting track the last couple of years it has all the amenities pluse a kiosk and a breakfast bar but i would ring first as there was talk of it closing hope this helps cheers bill

Tamworth for dates and locations for a caravan
Caravan Parks may already be booked out and other temporary non powed locations such as Showground and Flood plains in centre of town are on a 1st in 1st served basis.
Highly unlikely to get a spot if you just turn up at the begining of the week in , probably would 15-40km out of town at Nemingha,

Hi AntandNat,
There is plenty of campgrrounds that are temporary or are sportsgrounds that can be found on the website. We camped out of town at sportsground about 15-20ks out. It was good to be out of the hustle and bustle wasnt crowded could have a drink outside when we got home without bothering anyone else and we didnt get bothered by other people comming home really late as we were all spread out. Woud take that option again but the Boss has us going back to school a week earlyt so cant go anymore. Have to prepare for the kids sto return. Such is life.
