Hi all, trying to book accommodation at Broome for early June next year and Cable Beach Caravan Park has 150 already on the waiting list and their min stay is 7 nights.

Broome Caravan Park has accommodation at $44/night but it looks too far from the beach.

Tarangau Caravan Park? is half booked at the moment for $38/night.

We will have to pay a $50 deposit tomorrow to secure the site so was wondering if anyone has stayed there or heard what it is like?

Thanks

Hi Jazzy,

Have stayed there a few times, most recently in 08. Tarangau is a pleasant smallish park with what was then a new amenities block. There is grass and shade but like all Broome parks it is busy. Would recommend it.

Cheers,

Val

Jazzy

We, like others, stayed there in August 08. It was clean andtidy but very dusty and leafy but I would stay there again.

Jazzy, stayed there for 4 nights in Mid July, this year. Nice smaller park and I have no hesitation in reccommending it. Good ammenities and good managers.

Cheers Mick

Jazzy,

Gee thats unreal isn't it, I guess if you want to go to Broome as part of a trip around OZ (like us)and just drop in, you've got to go in the off season?

Not really, there are overflow areas but these do fill up as well. Broome is a much nicer place in the off season as far as I am concerned.

I think any caravan park is better then out on the highway or down the boat ramp. This year has been awful with illegal campers. Gets rather annoying seeing all the rubbish left around. Not just backpackers either.

I agree Broome is way better in the wet, tourist season is a nightmare here for the locals. But, thats what the town thrives on so cant complain can ya. Just needs to be more facilities for visitors.

We stayed at Cable Beach park last year and the best thing about it was the view in the rear view mirror.

Tarangau where our friends stayed was quite nice, small but friendly and no where near as busy as the big parks.

Thanks for the replies, have just put down a $50 deposit @ $37/night (may go up $2 by June next year tho).
Cable Beach Caravan Park emailed back and said one week minimum stay @ $350/week, thats $50/night
As we usually stay at the old council parks on the east coast, we will be more than happy with our choice.

Hi Jazzy.
Just come back from a month of travel through the Pilbara and Kimberley and stayed just 1 night at Tarangua (?sp) on an unpowered site as that was all they had left.
Terrible crap commercial radio booming out in the toilets made me want to scribble rude things on the walls which I didn't do of course... no texta in the wash bag!
They also had a small unisex toilet which stank so I didn't go there. Not a bad park and like most parks had the shiniest, well loved and polished 4 wheel drives I've ever seen outside a showroom. Maybe this is why so many flock to the North during the Winter down South.... to polish their cars.
Have a good trip.
Alan.
