Just when you think you have seen it all, last Tuesday about 100kl south of
Larrimah N.T. on the Stuart Highway there is a fellow changing his wheel on the road. Yes on the road and on a bend. We pulled up and told him to get off the road before he gets cleaned up by a road train, his answer to that was “but my jack isn’t working”. We told him your tyre is completely shredded and buggered anyway just get off the road, he finally did but only to the edge so we had to tell him again get right of the road. He tried another jack but it didn’t work either, so we got
mine out changed the wheel and he was of on his way. What can you say !!!!
Cheers
Rick P

Some people just seen to have a death wish.
Thank goodness that you have possibly saved his life and everyone else's heartache.
Imagine if he had been cleaned up by a road train, the poor truck driver would be blamed and all because of a poor choice.

Good on you Rick for not only helping him, but teaching him a life saving lesson. We had a driver's side caravan tyre blowout last year heading towards
Wentworth from the North. The road was narrow with a drop off both sides, and there were a number of trucks (more than cars). We risked wrecking the rim rather than losing a life and drove two or three kilometres until we found a farm track to drive right off the road. Luckily no damage to the rim.

My cousin lives in a small village in Queensland
Last week she complained that traffic through the town was stopped as a woman in a large urban 4x4 had stopped in the main and only street through town to send a text message on her phone.
Sadly the laws of natural selection are not working :-(

Flamin tourists do that crap every day here mate. Not so much sending texts but just stopping on roads where you cant get around them, and then roaring off without indicating and stuff.
This tourist season has really bugged me this year.

I hear what you are saying about the "laws of natural selection" and wonder if by our intervention we are causing the selection process to stop or slow to the point where these candidates for a
Darwin Award get to breed before they are removed from the gene pool.
Yeah I know I know we can't help ourselves, it's like when a small child is about to do something to hurt themselves.
Cheers Pop
