Hi, was wondering if any one could tell me if there is any camping spots along the new Highway linking Perth to Geraldton, I think it is called the Indian Pacific Highway, We are heading up North and thought we would try it out.

Cheers

Will let you know what we find up there, I thought they may have put in one or two of those 24hr sites but obviously not.

Its Indian Ocean Drive, the Pacific is a LONG way away!
I think you can camp at Wedge island, plus there is Sandy Cape north of Jurien Bay, Hangover Bay by the Pinnacles and numerous other tracks that can be camped on discretely.

Hahahah, sorry I meant Ocean, don't know why I put Pacific. must be still getting over the footy today LOL.

Thanks for your information fisho64, I think the trip up as far as Geraldton will be further for us (being up in the hills) but still want to have a look.

Cheers

Yeh Mazcan, as I said above, it was after the footy LOL, don't know why I put Pacific, in my defense it is an ocean just a long way away from the there.

I saw some caravans camped along there early in the week. There are a few large parking areas close to the road (prolly were constructions camps).

One thing that caught me out, I was dragging a new trailer home from the city and peppered the trailer between the Nambung turn off and Cervantes. The last section of road was not sealed. I didnt have my rock tamers with me. :(

have fun

Hi Kingswoodwagon, how far wasn't sealed? I thought that it was all finished.

It was something like 10km. The last 10km as you come into Cervantes.

I'm not convinced it shaved any time off the trip to home. But its a true 'Ocean Drive' with plenty of views.

Came that way on Wednesday from Geraldton just to see what it is like. Certainly a nice drive with lots of ocean views, but I think it is slower than the Brand Highway
