Just let
forum members know that
camping is now prohibited on the coastal strip that is adjacent to the Bombing Range, this area is called Bundera Coastal Protection Area (BCPA) before everyone gets upset the simple reason is the amount of rubbish that is continually left there has forced this to happen, plus the fact that
camping there over the winter for 3 or 4 months has not helped the situation, take it from me if wot i have seen over the last nine years in this area indicative of what campers do then no wonder the decision has been made, i have mentioned on this
forum before that it was a big possibility because of the amount of rubbish etc that is left by campers, i live locally and have for a while, i even use to
camp there but gave up about 18months ago because of the Defence Department's on going problems with rubbish, example is a
well that over a period of time was used as a dumping ground, to the point that people continued to try and fill it with rubbish even though it was absolutely full, we cleaned it all out and placed a steel cover on it with a padlock.
Cheers

Gotlost,
Its a shame that we are our own worst enemies and this is another example of that.

Mark...it's not only there but everywhere......particularly 24hr stops, the amount of rubbish is huge...dont have to be a fortune teller to know what's going to happen...but it may be too late.
At one stop they reduced the size of the area with big rocks and 4" steel bollards, to about 1/4 of its original size.

Yes Redbakk only have to drive from
Exmouth to
Carnarvon and see all the poo tickets at rest stops, too hard to bury it for most.

I guess the long drop or composting type
toilets provided for travelers need more specific
signage. Instead of the male and female representitive figures (presently shown in the standing position) and used to designate that these facilities are available at a certain location, these figures need to be shown in the sitting position........lets just say taking care of business so to speak...and actually using the
toilet and not the road verge.
There is obviously no point in written signs as I suspect most of the section of the traveling public that see nothing wrong with decorating the landscape with used
toilet paper are incapable of making sense of the written word.
