gps unit for a pda

i'm going to the US soon. should i purchase a gps add on unit for my ipac there and if so will the maps availible here work ok ?

If you use a program such as Oziexplorer or Trackmaster you can then use any map you like. But you will not be able to use the Magellan (DiscoverAus Streets & Tracks) or Garmin maps.

I was told they don't do warranty on stuff brought in the US , don't know if its true

has anyone out there bought a gps for an ipac 3900 series and used it to navigate streets in australia. also are ther street maps availible for
adelaide(i'm aware there are for mlebourne and
sydney.)

I don't think there is for
Adelaide check with your local map
shop. I use a Garmin2+ with my Ipac 3950 you have to convert the raster maps to a diferent format for use with an Ipac, do an archive search been done heaps of times. Regards Bob
