Anyone give me any clues as to what wheels I could use to keep as a couple of spares for the Patrol given that Nissan want an ubelievable amount of money for the genuine article.

They will only be used as spares and only on the roof rack when essential so appearance or colour matching, while it would be good, is not essential.

Thanks

Ask the Nissan Dealers who does there wheel change-overs( when people want mags instead of std rims) and then see them . I have my name down for a set when they come available!!!

GU size is 16x8

In fact if it is to carry on the roof rack, talk to mag wheel reselers/tyre shops, to see if they have a surplus mag (may be discontinued model) as they are much lighter to carry on the roof rack....

You can use 15x8's on some GU's.

4.8 and GU3 have larger discs..

Big enough to stop you running 15" rims :P

Also I beleive the New TD6 has the bigger brakes.

Go 16x8 ROH Trak II, they are the best Steel rims in my opinion.

Nissan Do Alloy's for $250, and Steel for $350.

Chances of getting a new set of steels with someone trading up to alloy, is slim, as only the pov pack DX has steel, and then they have to option up to wide wheel pack to get the 16x8's

Moneypit,

You can get white ROH rims to suit the GU's. However, before you go non-genuine, if you have access to a few Nissan dealers in your area, ring around the Spare Parts section and ask what they've got second hand. We managed to pick up 3 for our campertrailer (2 and a spare), they'd come straight off a new Patrol when the purchaser upgraded to alloys so virtually brand new. Think we paid around $90 each. Later, we got another genuine rim from another dealer so we have a 3rd spare between car and trailer. This one was 2nd hand but brand new still in the box, came with wheel nuts and the plastic thingy that goes over the hub. Paid $85!!! Point is, for the sake of a few phone calls you might get lucky.
