Hi All
I just been wondering what was the outcome of the
water problems reported to have been a result of a toxic chemical coming from a certain plantation tree widely planted.
it was said it was causing many illness in towns supplied with
water from streams with these plantings in their catchment.
i thought there was to be further
water testing?
BUT i have heard NOTHING???
Does anyone know?
Regards
GN

YES as they say don.t let the TRUTH get in the way or of a story, the ABC has a lot to answer for as does one of our doctors,(both gr--n ) and it did win VOTES.
St Helens water is OK and because we have an ageing
population most coming from other
places than tasmania we have people with all types of problems. All test have shown our
water is ok.

We have just come back from The
Bay of Fires after a two week break, because there is no
water available at the
free camping spots, you have to get the
water from the excellent facility at
St Helens.
There is no and never was a problem with the
water in
St Helens. We have been going up there twice a year for R&R for years.
This was the biggest beat up of BS by a politically motivated self important doctor that could be imagined.
I hope that someone in the community who can prove loss of income takes her to the cleaners.
Incidentally, we do not live in or near
St Helens, so have no axe to grind.
For those interested, just come over to Tassie and enjoy the closest you can get to paradise while still breathing. (Very fresh air).
Cheers
Dusty

Well there you go, i could not understand how there was never any follow up to the story!
You should hound the ABC to dop a follow up!
YES it has damaged Tassies reputation greatly, with most people i know on the mainland were talking lots about the
water problem and STILL have it in their mind that most of the fresh
water around populated arewas is poluted and causes helth issues.
VERY SAD

An obscene piece of reporting as subsequently revealed and really draws into question the morality of a professional who draws upon their science to create a "proof" that is invalid. I feel sorry for those who actually work hard toward safeguarding our wellbeing, in the public health space, whilst being denigrated and loosing reputation without the ability to adequately defend themselves in such a quasi political environment. I'll drink the Tassy
water until the "trusted" professionals tell me otherwise. That's my take on things!! Leigh

Tassie has been trying to live with these Watermelons (Green on the outside, Red in the middle ) for the last 25 years. How they get away with there lies and not being accountable to any-one is beyond me. I know what they are capable of as my mate and myself had our Logging Machine ( 30 Ton Excavator ) burnt to the ground by these clowns 25years ago.Happens all the time down there but rarely here of any one being charged. If any one burnt down a Business in a Town that they didn't agree with i bet they would soon end up in Jail. They left their calling card painted on the dozer (Earth First) but the Detectives said they would have to catch them in the act to lay charges.
