Reversing camera

I have a 2005 100 Series LC and would like to fit a hard wired reversing camera to look downward for close manoeuvring in carparks and so on. On my wish list is the ability to fit a second camera later. It would also be great if I could find something that might plug into my Garmin Nuvi 1450 GPS, so that I only have one screen to look at. But I think that last one might be a forlorn hope.
Does anyone have a recommendation on what to buy? I live in Sydney Inner West and a supplier who also installs would be great.

if it has the facilties to hook up to reverse cameras , then its just up to you to hook up power to the camera and run the rca cable

Hi.
Put this address in and look at the product. It is suitable for a Landcruiser despite the names in the address.

I have one in my Prado and it is fantastic. I can post a fitting instruction set of photos too.

You may have camera wiring in the tailgate but it is not a big deal to put it in.

I have bought several things off this guy and he is a good seller and helpful.

Look through his listings as he has several different setups .

To fit a camera in a 100 ser to do what you want here is what I did.

I took the inner panel off the top tailgate and drilled a hole in between the two number plate lights.
I then ran the cable around the l/h side of the window and through the loom at the top and into the car. Needs a bit of slippery to get it through the rubber sheath but is doable.
Then ran it behind body panels and under door kickplates along the existing loom to the front. My screen is on a mount above console but would be good where he shows it on dash.
Mine is a mini cam as shown in the link and I had to put a 10mm packer in to lower the camera below the edge of the tailgate.

By putting it there I get the towball and also a view of whats behind me very clearly.

I also have a switch wired in to power the camera when travelling so I can watch for tailgaters or keep an eye on the rig when towing.
Also have a wired camera on back of van that uses the same screen and can switch between the two
Here are two pics of camera

There is a wiring diagram in the pics in my profile on page 2.

Many thanks for that. Apolgies for the late reply as I have ben away. It looks a like a good value unit. I'd like to try to fit the minitor to the sun visor and fold it down when I need it. Thanks for the wiring tips. I think I'll order one, given that you're happy with yours.

Just be careful as there is a regulation about having screens mounted on sunvisor.

I have seen it on Ebay where a guy advertises "the only legal sunvisor screen in Australia"

My screen is different as I bought a Polaris system and the camera went on my old van
That screen may also only let you use one camera but I would ask him if he has a cheaper version than the $289 one that allows 2 cameras.

Is however not hard to put an AV switch in to allow 2 feeds into the single camera screen
