According to MDBA website the
lake sysyem as a whole is at 108%. The river is currently right up on the downstream side as they are releasing heaps to make way for what is coming down the river. The campsites along pamarmaroo are quite nice and there are also spots at block dam/main wier. The fish are biting due to water releases. Mozzies could be bad at night btu the water should be warming up for a swim if this cold weather goes away. Cheers marn

Did I read / hear recently that they're letting water down the anabranch as
well ?
Anyone know what the current situation is there?
Plenty more water coming down the river.. The
Warrego catchment got yet another drenching just a few days ago, and I believe the Maranoa /
Condamine / Balonne system is flowing
well at the moment...
Ya see folks, all ya need is the rain, and the rivers will run;-))
The downside to all the rain, is the number of graingrowers who have simply been unable to harvest what WAS shaping up as their best crop in many many years (but that's a whole 'nother issue:((

edit... Just had a look at the radar, and the Maranoa / Balonne catchment is copping some more right now;-)
So yeah, like I said, Plenty more water to make it's way downstream..............

G'day Ed, I haven't been down past the Anabranch for a while now, but it has been running for about a month I think.
It would be flowing all the way to the Murray by now, and I reckon they will keep it going seeing that there is still a mob of water coming down the Darling.

hi marny, pinko did not describe it quite adequate when he said main road. i dont know where you come from but a road from a to b in the country we refer to as a main road. this particular road is a sometimes a graded road that is made from clay, often extremely corrogated and as dusty as hell. yes. morons do drive to fast on it as they do on most country roads that to them they are just tracks but to us they are main roads. no animosity meant but sometimes our interpretations of terms is different. happy travelling and hope to see you out there one day. cheers mm.

Hi murrarman. What i am probably trying to say is that section of the road is fast and people will travel fast along it until the limit changes to 60 further down the road and maybe this area or
the block dam/main wier camping areas are a lot slower paced and more suited to children. Cheers marn

We were there last week. Lakes chockablock, rivers running high and fast. Some roads/
camp areas closed - local flooding and impassable roads. Best contact
Menindee Tourist Office to see if conditions have improved, which I doubt considering the rain they've had.
Cheers
Mark
