Hi,
We have to visit
Sydney next weekend on our way through to Eden. I was wondering if anyone can help us with the following.
Does anyone know of an over night place to
camp or a caravan
park in the Randwick area of
Sydney?
Basically we need somewhere to stay with the van and two dogs within a 1-2 hour drive of Randwick next Sunday the 12th December. We are self contained and a road side stay would be preferred.
Many Thanks,
Dave

Gramps beat me to it. there was
THIS THREAD about it last week.
I was working out of
Richmond the last two weeks and took the opportunity to check it out.
It is managed by the
Richmond Club ( large licenced Rec & Bowling club) right across the road. They give you a pin # for the boom gates. Has powered sites, emenities block,
dump point, etc. but is for 72 hrs stay only for FREE.
Walking distance to the whole of
Richmond CBD, about 150 mtrs from train which you can take into
Sydney Central. If you wanted to drive into the City, straight up
Richmond Rd. about 20 k's to the M7. It backs onto rural area with
views to Blue Mts. Sites for vans and M/Homes are on asphalt, just like a
carpark, so wet is not a problem. Large grassed area further down for campers I presume.
Did not look too busy, only about four vans and 3 M/Homes up until yesterday lunch time.
Don't worry about the RAAF base, as the whole of
Richmond and Windsor are affected when air traffic is about, and is an attraction in it's own right.

Gramps/Fred,
Thanks for your replys. Do you know if the
park allows dogs. I checked out their website and did not see anything about pets.

Dave, it is pet friendly. They display the pet friendly logo on the website home page top R/H corner.

..just pull up and
park on the Southern side of Bundock St. , just West of the old Navy gates. No one will bother you, happens all the time, there are no
parking restrictions of any type.

this place Just 10-20 min (depending on time of day) from Randwick via the harbour tunnel.
