I have a Garmin Nuvi 255. I am trying to figure out what format maps I can use on the SD card for off road driving. I have a set of Auslig 1:250,000 (ECW) maps. Is there a way I can use these?
I also have a copy of OziExplorer (with OZF maps). I previously used OziExplorer on my HP PDA. Do I need to load OziExplorer on the Nuvi?
Any help would be appreciated, as the instruction manual is less than instructive.

You can use Tracks 4 Australia. but you must have a Garmin Mapsource product on the PC , the cheapest one is Garmins Track and Waypoint Manager.
Download T4A
HERE
As stated you can also use Shonky maps Download it
HERE.
Then there's the Garmin Topo, check it out
HERE
I have found they all have +'s and --'s
.

we did a trip along the plenty HWY an down the
hay river . most of the time
we travelled on a blank screen or an unnamed road . ok in the high country .
even around

Walkers crossing.
Pretty good elsewhere
