Oodnadatta Track Feedback

You should continue along the old Ghan track, it's well worth it. If you do then whatever you do, don't miss out on visiting Chambers Pillar, the sunset and sunrise colours on the pillar are spectacular and the facilities are good. There is also an aboriginal art centre at Maryvale which has a range of original artwork at very reasonable prices.

Spot on. Did exactly that. Couldn’t resist posting this photo that I thought was a reasonable shot.
Myles.

There was only one way in and out when I was there? Start and finish at Maryvale. I think there used to be another entrance but closed now? Others may confirm if I'm wrong. Mike

Sorry Mike, I meant did you come in via Hugh River Stock Route or via the Old South Road to Maryvale. Generally what sort of condition was the track - easy, reasonable, difficult, hard going. I am thinking of doing it next year after the summer. Cheers, Bob

Yes fabulous country. The Arts Centre is actually in the aboriginal community of Titjikala which is adjacent to the Maryvale Station roadhouse. I only point this out because the roadhouse also sells artwork, but it's much dearer and, in my opinion, not as good as the Arts Centre in the community.
