I have been given valid advise many times in the past and therefore would like to ask you nice people again if anyone could recommend any camping spots along the way maybe for 2 or 3 nights. Traveling w/ and off road trailer, wife and teenage son.
We then will be staying 1 week in Bright in a resort.

Any advise is as always greatly appreciated.
JS.

If your travelling down the coast road, Deua National park is on the way down, if wanting to stay near the coast just south of Narooma is Mystery Bay. Theres a few more spots further south following the coast, but I have not been there, so do not know anything about them.

Once over the border there is Buchan Caves Reserve, from there over the mountain to Bright.

Agree with Mystry Bay, but before there, North Head 7ks east of Moruya,
or there's a road side stop at Bodalla Forest Rest Area, 9 ks south of Bodella, these are provided you are going via the coast road.
Called into Bright this year on our trip, lovely place even though there had been floods and it was raining.

Another coastal location is Merry Beach, near Kialoa/Bawly Point about 40ks north of Batemans Bay. Gets very busy during holidays but very nice location. If you feel like heading inland down the Hume Highway, try Talbingo Jounama Creek and/or the area around Blowering Dam. At the moment with everything full of water it looks magnificent.

Inland there is Gundagai anywhere near the river....its got alot of water in it at present....well worth a look. Hume Weir is also full, Mount Beauty/falls creek are real nice places to visit, only 40kms east of Bright.

JS,

Here's an alternative inland route if you have a couple of days. Make your way to Yass then down to Wee Jasper at the end of the Southern arm of the Burrinjuck Dam. Lovely camping spot (reserve) a couple of kms past the small township on the river, ask at the store or the small pub. An easily traversed windy dirt road to Tumut, (Good camping ground on the river) then a scenic drive over the hills to Batlow and on to Tumbarumba. From there to Jingellic and follow the Murray along to the Granya road and down to the Murray Valley Hwy and into Tallangatta ( A pretty township an the edge of the now full Hume Weir with a well sited camping ground on it's edge). From there out to Kiewa (via Tamgambalanga) from there a couple of ways to Bright. An excellent drive is via Tarwonga and over to Tarwonga Gap (brilliant views) .

All these roads I have pulled a camper trailer, its just a little slower because of the hills and windy roads, but a lovely trip. Even the names make it sound appealing.

Have a great trip, Bright is a great place, with trips up to Mt Buffalo, Harrietville and beyond, and even Falls creek (there is a good dirt road from there down to Omeo and then home via the coast

Regards,

Mike (Vic)l
