Suction Cup Clips

I have fitted some "Air-Cell" insulation pieces on the rear side and back windows of the 4by. I used double sided tape but they don't hold so thought of using a suction cup with a pin type prong and washer that clips over the prong to hold the insulation in place.
Can't find much on the net so does anyone know if they are available or what other fixing alternatives are out there.

Thanks and have a Happy New Year everyone

Bunnings sell small plastic cable tie pads in the area near cables etc.

These are a square white/cream plastic (nylon??) pad (approx 25mm sq.) with an adhesive foam backing that seems to stick to most things. On the front face are two slots for cable ties, which may be suitable for fastening your insulated sheets.

I'm not sure how the adhesive backing on these would compare to double sided tape when they are left in the sun for a while, but generally they have a lot more grip than standard double-sided tape.

cheerws,

glids

Hi Dasher, I have used Velcro dots on the glass and on the foil too. Don't use the smaller dots though as you do need a bit of stick. Seems to have worked even in the Gulf earlier this year.

On another subject, are you still headed to the Glenelg?

Happy New Year to all

Gday Des and John,
Velcro holds most of my gadgets on. Just make sure its the genuine Velcro brand. You can also get two grades - standard and heavy duty. Either will work well.

If you want something resistant to heat get some 3M TWINLOCK
I used it to hold a 3 1/2 in screen on to the roof console in my Patrol.

It never came off even sitting all day in direct sunlight.

Is supposedly resistant to 135deg F.

Is like velcro but each piece is identical has little hooks that hold tight and can be used at 90deg to each other as well.

I did see somewhere that Bunnings sell it but I got mine off 3M warehouse in Brisbane for $18 a metre.

I bought a cheap sunshade, cut it in two pieces and they just cover the rear side windows of the patrol. To hold them there without ruining the tint, I went to a cheap shop (Sams Warehouse) and bought three packs of cheap suction cups (6 per packi) for $2 each.

They work well!
