Currently we (3 families: will be 2 adults each plus 3 boys 13years) spend 2 weeks on holidays in Nambucca Heads at the Big 4 van park. Due to a couple employers now looking likely to refuse approval of future Christmas holidays we are looking at a possible holiday time of Easter 2012 (using the public holidays and school holidays of NSW and QLD)

Our dilemma is where to go taking into consideration the following, as some prefer to travel once only to get to our destination, set up and stay in 1 location rather than moving on each couple days:

1. Weather for that time of year
2. Families currently prefer to use a caravan park with power and facilities
3. Preference for Ensuite Powered Sites for current vans
4. Distance + time to travel for only a 2 week break - 1 family from SW Sydney, others from SE QLD - (currently like Nambucca Heads due to being half way between each of the families)
5. Some prefer the facilities of Big 4 parks - pools, bbqs, play areas etc for children, location to beaches

We will be looking at places like the Great Ocean Road, Fraser Island etc later on for other breaks away.

Any suggestions and ideas??

No discussion needed
South West Rocks town Park site 15 and up to 20.
No ensuites though, dont need them anyway
swiming weather.
No need to drive anywhere once arrived even the shops and pub are a 3 Min walk.
Pack canoes or kayaks and snorkel gear if you have them
We did five years in a row from Canberra for Easter.
Wife and kids lost interest I'd still be going if I had my way

There is the Tourist Park in Gordon Young drv, Horse Shoe Bay park opposite the Sea Breeze Pub or the Big 4 on Philip Drv.

Dave,

I am aware of the Big 4 in SWR however, I prefer the town park

Due to the views from the sites I mentioned
Proximity to water
Proximity to town

Cheers

We spent last easter with the grandies at Red Rock, between Coffs and Woolgoolga, dont think they have ensuites but lovely large grassy sites. great beach and very scenic. Great kayaking and walks, access to Yurigur National park. We have booked in again for this Easter
