Budget shocks

I'm not a hard core 4 wheeler - just use my truck at the boat ramp and on the beach.
I'm looking to replace the (one now broken and hanging off) shocks.
Super Cheap do Gabriel Blue Riders for about $100ea and I can get Monroe Magnums for about $80ea.

I've searched the Forum and am now more confused than I was before I started!

Is one better than the other?
Please don't tell me to buy Ranchos or other expensive brands - my truck is old - a 1968 J2000 Jeep with full Toyota diesel motor, transfer and box.

Thanks for any opinions.

Mate go for them. They are a good shock and you will find that some of the more expensive brands are just rebadged Monroes any way.

KarlEveryone is entitled to have an opinion - just make sure that yours is correct.

Thanks Karl - I've heard (read) some bad reports about other cheap brand - I figure if I stick to a good known brand with warranty I should be ok.

Try WW Shock Absorbers at Geebung.
They are manufacturers who export around the world. Their prices are very good and their shockies are pretty good as well. (About $70 ea) They manufacture shocks and gas struts.
Or try 4X4 Parts Australia at Strathpine for the "blue" shockies they sell. I suspect their shocks are WW shocks anyway. About $70 ea as well. They will ship anywhere.
Sorry I don't know anyone on the southside.
Cheers

Dave Im in general agreeance with the other posts although you if you choose the gabriel blue riders ,it may pay to shop around as I was offered them in Perth for $80.Super Cheap have just started up here and while they are ok on some things on others they are bloody dear.

i thought that the carrolls enforcers were good value at $410 for four shocks and a steering damper. for a landcriuser with a 2 inch lift ive had no probs with them and they get a bit of punishment ring the factory in sydney and buy them with a credit card over the phone dont buy them from the local distributer....it will only cost you more

Thanks all for your replies - I've decided to go the Monroes like most have suggested.

Much appreciated.

Cheers for now.
