Heading off to
Mallacoota tomorrow, nothing too adventerous, just towing the van to the council caravan park for a week of fishing etc. What are the local conditions like, as far as roads and the potential for floods, with all of the this trouble up further on the east coast, I am beginning to get a bit worried? I am travelling from west of
Melbourne, any tips...

Why don't you look at the BOM Website? No warnings for East Gippsland.

As far as
Bega area goes - we have been having light rains - nothing to bad - had a dry patch today - cant see any issue getting to the boarder

thanks for the replies, I am here now and it is quite a bit drier than sunny
melbourne, or so the kids tell me. it is overcast, a bit windy but warm.....and the flatties are on the bite...
