A college of
mine had fitted two 20 litre water tanks fitted underunder neath each door sill plumpbed back to to a 12volt tap onto his spare wheel carrier. He has a 2004 Toyota Lancruiser Turbo Diesel (IFS). This was fitted by TJM back in around 2005. TJm no do these and I cant find anyone who does.
Any ideas?
Thanks

This has been discussed on lcool. There are not many options for IFS 100 series cruisers.
1. Opposite lock do a 40L underbody
water tank. Something like $750 plus fitting.
2. You can get a combined long range fuel tank and
water tank - but you'll need to relocate the spare, and if you don't need the extra fuel then this is probably overkill.

There is a whole range of water tanks sold by Camec and available at most caravan spare parts outlets. They also supply the 12v pumps of various sizes.
I just went online and looked at their
water tank sizes until I found one to suit my ute and fitted it up myself with a water pump and and ordinary garden brass tap.
Cheers

I've thought about using some of the space inside the bullbar. Perhaps not ideal to have the extra weight hanging off the front though.
How did you make yours?

Mine is only around 20kg ( 20 litres) so not enough to even notice the weight but handy for emergencies.
I just folded it out of 3mm plate to suit the shape of the bull barand welded the seems. It fills from the top behind the bull bar and has a braided line running around the inside of the bull bar with a tap on the end.
Its only mild steel as it was all I had lying around, but when it rusts out Ill use it as a template and make one out of stainless.
Cheers

Met a Stainless steel artisan once, he had replaced his side steps with stainless steel all welded
long flat tanks. He reckoned they held about 20 litres each.

Yeah mate, I had to use the word as I'd seen it in a dictionary once and had been waiting for the chance! Actually this bloke was one in every sense of the word. He had made all the extra bits on his toyota and caravan, from stainless, just lovely work.

In my patrol there is space between the outer metal skin and the internal plastic panel at left hand side rear quarter to fit a 20litre plastic
water tank out of site uses empty space made by floatpac in victoria, had it for approx 8 years excellect, they make a range of sizes for various vehicles, worth a thought.
