Early next month we wish to have a stop over for a night between
Canberra and Eden. Has anyone got ideas on the above
places or another spot. There will be three vans and another two vehicles with boats so we need some area.
Thanks for your assistance

It's only a 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive between
Canberra & Eden. Why do you want to stop over?
For a group of 5 with boats & vans, Bemboka would have more room than Brown Mountain.
Nimmitabel is boring but spacious. Candelo is pretty and have a good market once a month.
Yellow Pinch Dam is Ok.
Route suggestion...when towing, the road from
Bombala to
Merimbula via Cathcart is heaps easier decent/ascent than Brown Mtn or Clyde Mtn. And if you are 5 towing vehicles travelling in convey, then definately take Cathcart road instead of Brown Mtn and save everyone lots of stress.
Have fun!

R2D - thanks for that - we are coming from further north than
Canberra and just thought we would all
camp part the way down. We will not be traveling together until we all arrive for the first
camp. The next day the boats will travel faster than the caravans and even they will not travel in convoy.
Thanks for you thoughts

Bemboka is a good spot, especially if there is a bit of water in the bemboka river (not big enough for boats though). That would probably be most suitable with the convoy. Used to live at
Bega and
Tathra, hope you enjoy yourselves down south.
We have travelled brown mountain towing and found it fine, just put the vehicle in low gear and take your time.
