Just wondering if is permitted to leave a Engel running on 12v (turning the 3 way in the van off ) while crossing to Tasmania

Cant see any problems with this but thought i would ask the question anyway

Don,
They are primarily worried about gas due to the leak/explosion risk.

A 12v electric fridge poses no risk so no problem.

We left ours on and no questions asked except about gas.

cheers

Hi Donk, Mark from Ballina, done Tassie last year, absolutely fantastic, word of warning, NOT allowed to take fruit & veg across on Spirit'...PS NOT allowed to bring FIREARMS back from Tassie, searched our van & engine bay....we used all our fresh food in Melbourne, got both fridges cold, were still cold in Devonport, went to IGA supermarket in Penguin, or Woolworths in Wynyard if you get that far.....PS take your own food onto The Spirit, bit expensive...Maccas for early coffee in Devonport...supermarkets were not open early. PS again, our trip highlights were Ben Lomond NP/Jacobs Ladder & Bruny Island Cruise.........getting excited again, can we come too?
