Always caravans stored here during the winter tourist season. Many families head further north with just the 4x4.

Try the Big Blue shed at Smithfield , northern side of Cns. Van is stored under cover, pay for a month and they will refund the last week if you havent used any of it. Had our van there during cyclone, good to deal with, something like $60 per wk.

If you are going up the Cape you can park your Van at Lakeland Van Park free. Black top all the way.

As pointed out by Matt if you are going to the Cape you can take your van to Lakeland or to the rodeo ground at Mareeba or to Mt Carbine Van Park. If you are doing the Cape you can now quite easily take your conventional van to Weipa and the Camp Ground there was in the process of converting part of their area to being more suited to vans when we were there last July. There was a conventional Franklin Van at Elliot Falls in mid July.
