"Little Eva" is a B-24 Liberator that crashed near Burktown in QLD.......
It is a wreckage that is still out there and in some very un-accessable terrain, what i am asking is has any one been there or knows of someone who has, there was a group of 4wd's that went there on an expedition last year around June/July but i dont have any names or contacts, i have someone asking me for some details so they can organize a trip to it .....
Any one able to help with info ??????
I have the exact location and as i live here would not be to much of a problem to get to it but any info would be of great help....
Cheers
Joe

Yes it is .... sort of.... it is "BIG" country out here so being at Escott means you have an area of many square klms to find it ....

Morning Joe,
Member Doug T and I looked into this quite extensively a couple of years ago. It is in very dense bush making it hard going for 4wd's. The Google Earth position is slightly out and in the dense scrub you can go past it.
I spoke with a constable at
Doomadgee Police station who had been to the site last year on Quads, and even then found it a struggle. Doug and I would love to get there and will help you in anyway we can.
There is a book about it called " A Savage Wilderness" fantastic read.
Member message us any time.

Hi Noel,
I have spoken to Doug and he mentioned you, i guessed you would get back to me, from what i have found out so far is that if taking cars you have to leave them and still have a full days round trip on foot, glad you mentioned the constable as i still have contact with the cops from last year, they are all new now, i will make contact with him and get some more info ......
Doug was not real keen about the walking part, dont blame him eh....
I have thought about catching up with the guys at Escott and seeing about the chopper as they do come here from time to time...
Noel i will send you a pm and get your e-mail address, that way i will have it in a "folder" as i have a chap from
Sydney interested in getting there also..
Cheers
Joe

Hi Joe,
This video features Les Hiddins and Ray Mears visiting the wreck by helicopter.
The Little Eva footage starts at around 4:15.
