Gday,
The Free Spirit is a good park in
Darwin but the V8 Supercars are on the 17th-19th of June so you would want to book soon as accommodation gets booked out around that time.
Cheers

As hairy said, accom is impossible around V8's, read = NONE. Freinds paid $2200 for a two bedroom cabin in Howard Springs C/P for 10 days a few years back. Great event if you have somewhere to stay though!
Whilst here go to the Leanyer water park, is free and great for kids. The wave
pool is also good and costs very little.
Cheers Lyndon

We stayed at Free Spirit Is not cheap but caters for kids.
In
Broome would recommend Tarangau or Palm Grove.
Definitely NOT
Cable Beach. Huge crammed full park, disorganized office always
busy with fishers leaving as early as 3 am some days.
Amenities not as clean as could be either.
Book ahead especially in
Broome.

Hmmm it took me 4 phone calls to get a booking and when we got there they couldn't find it.
451 sites and no computer in the office just pockets on the wall for each site and bits of paper everywhere.
They couldn't organize a p....up in a pub.

Hi Mick,
255km south of the Great Northern Highway/
Derby intersection, is the turn off to
Port Smith CP. It is a great little spot and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. From memory,
Port Smith CP was about 14km off the highway, but worth the effort.
Went to
cable beach once.. that was once too often... lol. Nice to have a look, but won't stay there again.
There are a lot of van parks around the
Darwin region... it all depends on what you are after. I would highly recommend a visit to the
Territory Wildlife Park (whole day) and you could stay at the nearby Lakes resort & CP at Berry Springs.
You could pop in and visit member Doug T at Mt. Bundy Station at
Adelaide River...!
regards

Hi, we stayed at
Broome CP in 2009 with 3 kids and had a ball, great big grassy sites and a fantastic
pool or should i say pools.
In
Darwin we stayed at the Free Spirit CP, also with big grassy sites and heaps to do for the kids.
Cheers,
Lance

In
Darwin recommend Free Spirit or Hidden Valley CP. If you are prepared to be a bit further out, Howard Springs is ok - has a nice
pool.
In
Broome, Palm Grove or
Roebuck Bay CP.
South of
Broome, do not miss
Barn Hill - great place to stay, as is 80 Mile Beach CP.
