It seems that the Savage River bridge, just north of Corinna, is closed for repairs for a couple of weeks. That means I can't travel up on the Western Explorer. One option is to still go to Corinna, then up the dirt to Waratah and eventually to Arthur river from the north end. Can anyone who's travelled the Corinna to Waratah section recently give me an assessment of the road - towing a 5m caravan behind a 4wd.

Hi Nifty.....I did Corinna to Waratah in January, from memory first third is gravel rd,a bit windy in some sections but no problems towing a van, just drive to the conditions. No worse than the other rd you were going to do.
The rest of the road is good bituman, watch out for mine trucks

Thanks Bravo. It's great to get a fast, specific and first-hand reply. We'll make that trip in another couple of days.

Your biggest problem will be getting the rig across on the ferry. The maximum length is 9 metres from the front axle of your tug to the rear axle of your trailer.
